I’m just waiting for its rays to retreat,
So I can retreat for the night.
The stars are out,
The light bends as it moves.

We stare at the constellations,
Mystical destination,
Devastatingly distant,
Unravel the mystery.

The morning arrives with the dry blundering wind.
The wind makes one blunder,
Makes one wonder,
Makes time nothing but cannon fodder.
It drifts away, and tends to stay.

Days become delayed,
The Sun beats down,
After many long hours.

Still…

Still we wait for stillness
Still we wait

Trying to keep still

The impenetrable wind,
Continues,
To blow through our bones.
Screaming out the forgotten howls of the alone.
Deafening, deafening,
Howls of nothing…

Nothing but wind and sun
Nothing but sand and mountains,
Nothing but ticks, spiders, porcupines.
Nothing but thousands of lost thoughts.
Nothing but words never uttered.

My last sight in the desert,
Was orange, colliding into blue….
The last sighting of anything was you.
Blue Mountain in the distance,
Contemplating our existence.
My last glance at a wasteland so true.
The last mirage in the desert was you,
